Obviously I will post more on our fabulous week in Hawaii but I thought this stunt was too good to wait to share.  Enjoy!

E-town Weekend

Last weekend we headed up to good old edmonton.  Mike spent the weekend working like a mad man and I spent the weekend playing!  The following photos are at Galaxy land where Carter was in HEAVEN.  If we lived there I would definitely take regular advantage of the "free under 2" admittance!  Along with playing at West Ed we were able to spend an afternoon swimming with all the Balderson aunts, meet up with friends for breakfast at Cora's, do dinner on Whyte Ave with cousins and friends (we received a few funny looks walking down Whyte with our baby at 9pm on a Saturday night - ha!), and spend a bunch of time playing at Aunt Laurens where we stayed.

While Carter and I were busy playing, Mike was busy doing this:

And a few before pictures just for fun:

This is the condo Mike and I bought a couple months after we were married.  It was such a fun time in our newly married lives and I have such fond memories of our time in Edmonton together and living here.  We've rented the place out for the last nearly 4 years with no glitches or headaches UNTIL the pipes froze above our unit causing a major flood just before Christmas.  As much as I feel for our tenants who had all there stuff ruined and have been displaced for months, I'm glad it gave us the opportunity to switch up the flooring - which I never liked!  Insurance gave us the dollar amount of the previous flooring and by Michael doing the work himself we were able to upgrade for no extra cost.  Doesn't look to shabby if I do say so myself!!  I would even want to move back in myself if it weren't for the fact that us and all our stuff would never fit now!

Taking a break and Mike loading our baby up with sugar!

Afraid to Fly

Mike and I (and a bunch more Balderson's) are lucky enough to be heading to Hawaii in just 10 short days.  To say I'm excited would definitely be an understatement.  BUT.... I'm already losing sleep at night over my fear of the plane ride with Carter!  We're flying to Seattle, have a 4 hour layover, and then another 6 and a half hours to reach our tropical destination.   Really from the time we have to arrive at the Calgary airport to when we land in Honolulu it will be about 15 hours of travel.  For those of you who read this that witness Carter in person regularly you know that boy is BUSY.  We've already tried children's gravel and he's one of the few where it causes off the wall hyperactivity!  We have a prescription for a sleep med but I'm hoping to not have to use it.  I feel like he is the worst age to be flying with - he's super mobile and interested in everything but not interested enough to sit and watch a DVD or play with a toy for longer than a minute or two.  Suggestions people?????
